We, Lesedi Day Care (LDC) manage and operate a creche on Farm J92 in Toitskraal, with permission from the landowner; Katlego Sitrus (Pty) Ltd, since 2012.
We’ve written a short, two-point wishlist for our 2023 needs. This includes a new sponsorship for continued Monkeynastix lessons and outside shading.

The positive difference that our centre has made in our community and the lives of 45 children last year alone is well known in our area. Our creche ensures that children of farm workers between the age of 1 and 6 years old are nurtured and prepared for primary school. LDC was started for the children of farm workers. We are a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) and members of the community (parents and interested parties) have been appointed as office bearers. It is our experience that this ensures that the needs of the community and especially the children are met.
Monkeynastix lessons:
This program combines creativity and music with basic training in flexibility, balance, strength, agility, coordination, and body awareness. Our children love these energy-packed sessions! The Monkeynastix franchisee in Groblersdal has reduced its fees to LDC. As we are totally dependent on financial support from the private sector and donations, we need sponsorship to continue these sessions in 2023.
Costing:
R150.00 yearly registration fee per child
R 75.00 monthly fee per child
We have received a very welcome donation of R20 000 from the Beeld-Kinderfonds and R5 000 from Katlego Sitrus.
Our current shortfall for the year’s Monkeynastix lessons is R12 400.

Outside Shading:
Our children can be much better accommodated by sharing the inside classroom (container building) between two groups.
This way, one group can use our outside benches under a corrugated roof while another group is being accommodated inside and a third group is free playing
Outside on the jungle gyms. Three smaller groups will be a great improvement as our teachers can provide better, one-on-one attention to each child.
